What is fabric? What is it made of?
Fabric is the surfaces formed by various yarns by processing with different methods. Raw materials of fabrics are cotton, wool, silk, linen, etc. raw materials.
History of Fabric
In our history, fabric production started with linen. Over the years, wool, silk, and cotton fabrics have become widespread.
Fabric Production
The fabric is formed by passing the threads under each other in parallel.
Fabrics are produced by knitting or weaving method.
Knitted Fabrics
They are flexible, elastic, plump and soft textile surfaces formed by turning the threads into loops by means of needles. Knitted fabrics have an elastic structure due to the special shape connections of the loops that make up the knitting structure.
Woven Fabrics
The movement that occurs when the threads come from a bobbin and pass through the drawing-in or creel and the warp thread passes between them while the drawing-in is moving up and down is called weaving.
Waterproof Fabrics
Waterproof fabric types are laminated on high-performance synthetic fabrics such as nylon or polyester, resulting in waterproof and windproof but breathable clothing.
Fabric Types
Many types of fabrics are produced to be used in home textiles and clothes. Many of the fabrics used in our industry are as follows;
- linen
- Cotton
- Woolly
- Silk
- Angora
- Cashmere
- Acrylic
